Title: Last One Home Pdf A Novel
Growing up, Cassie Carter and her sisters, Karen and Nichole, were incredibly close—until one fateful event drove them apart. After high school, Cassie ran away from home to marry the wrong man, throwing away a college scholarship and breaking her parents’ hearts. To make matters worse, Cassie had always been their father’s favorite—a sentiment that weighed heavily on her sisters and made Cassie’s actions even harder to bear.
Now thirty-one, Cassie is back in Washington, living in Seattle with her daughter and hoping to leave her past behind. After ending a difficult marriage, Cassie is back on her own two feet, the pieces of her life slowly but surely coming together. Despite the strides Cassie’s made, she hasn’t been able to make peace with her sisters. Karen, the oldest, is a busy wife and mother, balancing her career with raising her two children. And Nichole, the youngest, is a stay-at-home mom whose husband indulges her every whim. Then one day, Cassie receives a letter from Karen, offering what Cassie thinks may be a chance to reconcile. And as Cassie opens herself up to new possibilities—making amends with her sisters, finding love once more—she realizes the power of compassion, and the promise of a fresh start.
A wonderful novel of perseverance and trust, and an exciting journey through life’s challenges and joys, Last One Home is Debbie Macomber at the height of her talents.

Disappointing I really do not like writing a critical review but this book was so disappointing. Not one character was developed; it actually seemed like the author had rushed to fill the pages with enough words to meet a deadline.last one home Last One Home by Debbie MacomberHave enjoyed the other works by the author and this one sounded interesting.Starts out with hide and seek with the neighbor kids...then the story moves to the present day...a story of domestic violence and Cassie is with Maureen as she goes through the court process, charging her husband with abuse...After Cassie returned to WA she found out her father had died and none of the family can aide her with money...Cassie ends up with a hairdressing job and volunteers at the women's center.Story also follows Karen and Nicole, each of their lives and families. Karen has contacted Cassie to come get the furniture from their mothers house who had passed away...and now Cassie is eligible for a Habitat House for her and her daughter as long as she gives back with volunteering..She's also eligible for catering which will give her money to get a rental truck to get furniture from her mothers house...Story follows all three women and their life's as adults and memories of days spent together when they were younger...I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).Extraordinary!!!! I loved this book so much, but parts of it were hard for me to read because of a past marriage that was full of mental abuse & recriminations. I love how Debbie made the characters seem like my family, as if I were Cassie. I have a special place in my heart for Debbie's writings. They have been instrumental in healing my wounded soul more times than I can count. I have read many of her books. Her faith in God is also something we have in common. We are sisters in Christ. I thank you Debbie & can't wait to read the next one!!!!
